Health and Wellness Specialist Job Description
OccuMed of New England is a division of United Alliance Services Corporation (UASC), a WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) Occupational Safety and Health consulting firm. OccuMed was established to expand our health and wellness services, but keep our existing corporate structure. OccuMed offers comprehensive services to help organizations build employee health and wellbeing while meeting occupational compliance requirements along the way. Our training and consulting services range from prevention and intervention wellness programs to medical screening services, such as drug and alcohol testing. OccuMed’s mission is to assist human resource departments and business owners improve their employee benefits and programs to provide a safer and healthier workforce, while decreasing worker’s compensation cost caused by injuries or medical problems from unhealthy lifestyle choices.
The Health and Wellness Specialist is responsible for overseeing operational activities, customer support processes, and managing service programs. The Health and Wellness Specialist will manage relationships or agreements with external partners and vendors, while delivering customer support on all levels. The Health and Wellness Specialist will coordinate marketing activities as they relate to service offerings and lead nurturing processes through website, email, campaigns, public relations, and social media. This individual will have a comfort level with training, consulting and presenting programs for secured contracts when necessary, specifically regarding state and federal compliance standards and infection control practices. This individual will develop, maintain and customize client’s health, safety and risk management programs.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Activities:
- Assists the Operations Director and CEO with setting strategic, quarterly goals within established budget
- Manages relationships with service partners and coordinates all activities with outside consultants and vendors
- Oversees scheduling and planning for events including training seminars, public courses, client meetings, trade shows, etc.
- Manages data entry on CRM Software related to client accounts
Program and Services Management and Delivery (50%):
- Develops, revises and presents training programs for secured contracts and during public events
- Develops inspection checklists and follow-up reports related to client audits
- Develops, revises and maintains client’s programs, policies and documents securely
Customer Support Activities:
- Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and other sales actions for outside sales opportunities
- Creates RFP/RFQ responses to potential clients independently or as a member of the staff on a group response
- Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail; cross-sell and up-sell
- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
Marketing Support Activities:
- Creates lead lists by performing target market research
- Manage website updates and changes
- Create and post events, blogs and job descriptions on website
- Create and post media on all social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Attend trade shows, exhibits, networking events and other related events
- Develop sales presentations, collateral and other prospect-specific content
General Qualifications:
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a related field (healthcare/public health/health sciences)
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards, HIPAA Laws, Infection Control best practices, insurance, and risk management
- Experience as an instructor, trainer or public speaker for various topics a plus (CPR, First Aid, Workplace Violence, Sexual Harassment, Active Shooter, Reasonable Suspicion, etc.)
- Professional Certifications a plus (i.e. OSHA, HIPAA, EPA, NIOSH, JACCO, AHA, NSC, FEMA)
- Professional Licenses a plus (i.e. EMT, Paramedic, LPN, RN)
- 1-2 years of professional, client-focused account servicing, or similar, work experience
- Outstanding execution and account management abilities
- Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to set realistic goals, manage expectations, and prioritize competing interests
- A demonstrated ability to stay on top of administrative tasks
- Excellent time-management skills
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn new applications
- Experience with CRM Software (Salesforce) is a plus
- Experience with marketing is a plus
