OSHA Safe + Sound Week Respirator Awareness/Fit Test Session

FreeAs part of OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week, OccuMed is pleased to offer a complimentary Respirator Awareness Course and Quantitative Fit test to interested individuals.
Our OSHA certified Respirator Awareness Course will provide information that will enable employees to understand and prevent the hazards associated with dust, fumes, mists, and oxygen deficient and enriched atmospheres. Students will learn the types, proper selection, limitations, intended use, inspection, cleaning and storage of respirators. Participants will also learn about the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. Attendees will be presented with the elements to create a required OSHA respiratory plan.
Two sessions are available on August 13 and August 20 with the awareness course running from 8am-10am.
As part of this promotion, attendees are invited to conduct a free quantitative fit test at the conclusion of the course. Using state-of-the-art machinery from PortaCount, OccuMed can perform Quantitative Fit Testing to ensure your respirator fits properly and is effective. Testing takes only fifteen to twenty minutes to complete, and the results are certified for one year. All attendees who wish to take part in the fit test will need to provide their own respirator and come appropriately prepared for the test with a clean shaven face and complete a Medical Evaluation Questionnaire (provided by OccuMed) prior to the test.
